Join the rapidly expanding amateur tennis flex league in the Chicagoland, St. Louis, and Charlotte areas.
Discover your inner "Gladiator"! Many tennis enthusiasts are returning to the sport and finding it surprisingly easy to incorporate tennis into their busy schedules.
Who participates?
- Players “Getting Back in the Game”: Gladiator Tennis often serves as the inaugural competitive platform for individuals who have not played organized tennis since their high school or college days. It is common to hear players express sentiments like, “After college, I became engrossed with work and family commitments, finding it challenging to allocate both time and funds to commit to a weekly club schedule. While I occasionally played recreationally with a colleague, it has been approximately 15 years since I last engaged in competitive play. Gladiator Tennis provided me with an opportunity to rekindle my passion for the game.”
- Club players continuing their play into the summer: Gladiator Tennis offers an excellent avenue for players to maintain their skills during the summer hiatus of the indoor season. Many of our participants are affiliated with regional clubs such as Naperville Tennis Club, Wheaton Sports Center, Vaughn Athletic Center, Norris Rec Center, Centre Court in Hanover Park, Challenge Fitness of Lockport, Heritage Tennis Club in Arlington Heights, and The Lincolnshire Club – just a few of the notable facilities in the Chicagoland locale. This trend is also observed in St. Louis.
- Traveling team players (NITTL, USTA, club members) seeking additional match opportunities: Numerous athletes engaged in team competitions under NITTL, USTA, and other local club umbrellas view Gladiator Tennis as an avenue to secure an extra match weekly to hone their skills. Our league's adaptable scheduling format facilitates this objective.
- First-time competitors: Gladiator Tennis welcomes a diverse player base that includes newcomers exploring the realm of competitive tennis at introductory skill levels. If you've undergone lessons and now aspire to test your abilities in a competitive arena, Gladiator Tennis provides a fitting avenue.
Where do we play?
Matches are conducted on public courts throughout Chicagoland and St. Louis regions, with Charlotte joining the ranks in 2018. Upon registration, you select one of these locations as your designated “Home Court” for playing 3 or 4 out of your 7 matches. The remaining matches on your roster take place at your opponent's home court, typically within a 20-minute radius.
When do we play?
Match schedules are not predefined; participants coordinate match timings based on mutual convenience. Matches can be played ahead of schedule within a two-week window per match without exceeding the Score Reporting Deadline each week. Each season encompasses all 7 matches within an 8-week period.
